About Lindiwe Mabuza
Dr Lindiwe Mabuza is an experienced diplomat and politician who is currently the SA High Commissioner in the United Kingdom. She is a widely respected poet, and has had five volumes of poetry published around the world. She is also the co-editor of Oliver Tambo Remembered, a monumental tribute to one of South Africa’s greatest leaders.
During the apartheid years Mabuza worked as a radio journalist with the ANC’s Radio Freedom and as the Editor of Voice of Women (VOW) – a Journal by ANC women. She was also the Chairperson of the ANC Cultural Committee in Lusaka, Zambia. Mabuza then held the positions of Chief Representative of the ANC to Scandinavia (based in Sweden) and Chief Representative of the ANC to the United States. Mabuza opened the ANC office in the US. Over the past ten years she has served as the SA Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany, the High Commissioner to Malaysia, the High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam (Non-resident) and the SA Ambassador to the Republic of the Philippines (Non-resident).
2008 saw the release of her latest collection of poetry, Footprints and Fingerprints published by Picador Africa.
